1st Sywell Air Scouts

Who are we?

 

We are your local Air Scout Troop. As part of the Scout Association we are a group of young people aged between 10.5 and 18 years old that have a common interest in aviation.

 

As Scouts we learn all the basic Scouting skills you would expect such as:

 

• Camping

• First Aid

• Fire-lighting

• Archery and Shooting

• Safe use of knives, axes and saws

• Pioneering and knots

• Cooking

• Hiking

 

However these are enhanced by our love of aviation and we have a specific focus on air and aeronautical activities. These include loads of fun experiences such as:

 

• Flight simulators

• Aircraft recognition

• Marshalling signals

• Tours of airfields and aircrafts

• Visits to air shows and aircrafts

• Talks from pilots and aviation engineers

• Aviation map reading

• Learning to speak to the control tower
